ja, ja, klingt schlimm, aber anders konnte ich dieses Tuch nicht beschreiben. ich habe naturfarbenes alpaca relativ dünn, aber nicht mit allzu viel drall ausgesponnen und es einfädig verstrickt, damit es zwar sehr lace-ig wurde aber doch noch ein wenig aufflauschte (sollte ja auch warm sein). das muster habe ich mir selbst ausgearbeitet und aufgeschrieben, damit die zunahmen auch funktionierten. es erinnert an gotische kirchenfenster oder blätter - wer weiß. meine mutter meuterte zwar erst mal " ist das jetzt ein tuch für alte leute, bin ich schon so weit?", aber dann saß sie auf dem balkon und hat sich doch sehr gefreut, so etwas kuschelig warmes und leichtes im rücken zu haben... tja, wieso denn nicht gleich so... :-)
"mum's gothic alpaca leaf-shawl". oh yes, sounds bad, but i could not describe this shawl any other way. i spun white alpaca fibers as a fine single, but not with too much twist, so the knitted result was light fluffy lace shawl - and still warm enough. i have created this pattern myself and took care that the pattern fitted with the increasing loops. it reminds my of gothic stained glass windows or leaves - who knows. although my mum grumbled "is this a shawl for old people, am i that far already?" i cought her sitting on the balcony with this shawl on her back .. . well, what shall i say....
